Maddie & Jon - Episode 2 The moody edits

“If your photos aren’t good enough, then you’re not close enough” – Robert Capa

So as promised here is the second part of the Maddie and Jon shoot. One of the things that I wanted to do with this shoot was to get out of my comfort zone. I usually tend to shoot pretty wide as my go-to lens is the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art. It is seriously and amazing lens and probably on my camera 90% of the time.  But tight that most of my images fall more towards the wide angle side. But recently I met a photographer through one of my photography Facebook groups and her work is amazing. She also shoots with this lens but gets super close and creates amazing images. So I was inspired to get a bit closer and try something new. I used both the 35mm as well as the Sigma 85mm 1.4 and loved the results!

I also went with a black and white on these. Something that I hardly ever do as I am fond of the bright colors. Especially with Maddie's pink hair and that golden light. So here are a few moody color edits.

Needless to say, I think I will be getting a little closer for any of my shoots in the future.
